SERRATIOPEPTIDASE TABLETS
DESCRIPTION
Serratiopeptidase, a proteolytic enzyme with versatile properties including anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-oedematous and fibrinolytic effects.
Serratiopeptidase acts by dissolving fibrin, reducing inflammation, reducing oedema and inactivating Bradykinin (A factor responsible for inflammation). It is able to increase the diffusion of antibiotics in tissue.
Serratiopeptidase has high affinity for cyclooxygenases (COX-I and COX-II), a key enzyme associated with production of different inflammatory mediators which helps to relief pain

PHARMACOKINETICS
Serratiopeptidase is an acid labile enzyme, so when consumed in unprotected form is destroyed by acid in the stomach. However, enteric coated tablets enable the enzyme to pass through the stomach unchanged, and are absorbed in the intestine. Serratiopeptidase is found in negligible amounts in the urine, suggesting that it is transported directly from the intestine into the bloodstream.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
- Serratiopeptidase is oral enteric coated tablet to be swallowed not chewed.
- Serratiopeptidase is recommended to be taken 1-2 tablets – 3times daily – 1/2 hour before the meal.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Known Hypersensitivity reactions to Serratiopeptidase.
- Patients with blood coagulation disorder.
- Patient with severe hepatic / renal disorders.
