ACECLOFENAC TABLETS

DESCRIPTION
Aceclofenac is a widely used non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It is a phenylacetic acid derivative and is similar to diclofenac although it appears to have a lower tendency to cause gastrointestinal effects.

COMPOSITION
Each film coated tablet contains:-

Aceclofenac B.P.	100 mg
Excipients	Q.S.
Colour	Sunset yellow FCF

PHARMACOLOGY

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal agent with marked anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The mode of action of aceclofenac is largely based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Aceclofenac is a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which is involved in the production of prostaglandins

INDICATIONS

Aceclofenac is an Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for relief of pain and inflammation in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindications of Aceclofenac Tablets are as follows:-

It is contraindicated in the patients who have previously shown hypersensitivity reactions (e.g. asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or urticaria)
Severe Hepatic and Cardiac failure
Moderate to severe Renal failure
During the last trimister of pregnancy
Active or previous peptic ulcer
History of upper gastrointestinal perforation, related to previous NSAIDs therapy.
