WHAT SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
Selenium Sulfide 2% Lotion is used in the management of simple dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis of the scalp.
2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU USE SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION DO NOT USE SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION
if you are allergic to active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
- Talk to your doctor or pharmacist or nurse before taking using SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION
- Do not allow contact with broken or severely inflamed skin.
- Avoid contact with the eyes; if SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION gets into the eyes, wash thoroughly with cold water.
- Do not leave the Lotion in contact with the hair or skin for more than the recommended duration as irritation, burning sensation or blistering may occur and do not use more often than recommended (see Section 3).
- SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION is not to be ingested.
- In the event of accidental ingestion, take all appropriate measures immediately.
- SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION must not be applied to or on infected or broken skin as this may cause systemic absorption of the selenium sulfide.
OTHER MEDICINES AND SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.
If the hair has been damaged by chemical substances (like dyeing or bleaching products or as a result of a permanent wave or relaxing treatment) or if the hair is grey or white, discolouration of the hair may occur. In order to avoid discolouration of the hair it must be thoroughly rinsed immediately after use.
SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION should be very thoroughly rinsed from the hair before dyeing, tinting, or permanent waving the hair. It should not be applied for a period of two days before or after any of these procedures. Gold, silver and other metallic jewellery should be removed prior to use of SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION since discolouration of the metals may occur.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
- No studies on the effects on the ability to drive or use machines have been performed.
ADULTS AND THE ELDERL
- After thoroughly wetting the hair massage SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION in to form a lather. Rinse after 2 to 3 minutes.
- Usage should be twice a week for the next two weeks to control the condition.
- After this initial course of treatment SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION should not be used more often than necessary.
- If you use more SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION than you should
- If ingested, vomiting should be provoked and general supportive measures given.
- If you stop using SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
- Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- Irritation and sensitization, sometimes described as a burning sensation,
- Blistering can occur, especially if the Lotion is kept in contact with hair or
- skin for longer than the recommended duration.
- Alopecia can occur.
- Hair colour changes may occur; this can be avoided or minimized by thorough
- washing of the hair after treatment.
- Seborrhea (oiliness of hair and scalp) or application site dryness may occur.
- Reporting of side effects If you get any side effects, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
- This includes any possible side effects not listed in this leaflet.
- By reporting side affects you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
HOW TO STORE SELENIUM SULFIDE 2% LOTION
- Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the label.
- The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
- Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

- The other ingredients are bentonite, titanium dioxide, citric acid, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, glyceryl monoricinoleate S, monoethanolamine lauryl sulphate, Empigen BB, perfume, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment, purified water.
